In Zorg en Zekerheid's magazine called Gezzond, an article was published about their glasses action together with Eyeclarify. In this article, information is given about Hope Alive Uganda. The article read:
"Do you have old (childrens) glasses or hearing aids? Hand them over until November 1 in one of our insurance shops. The glasses and hearing aids will be donated to Hope Alive Uganda. This fundraising is done in collaboration with Eye Clarify, a charity which together with other organizations and foundations ensures the distribution of glasses and hearing aids. Zorg en Zekerheid pays for shipping the collected glasses and hearing aids to Uganda. Hope Alive Uganda is a foundation that focuses on orphans and poor families in Kisozi, Central Uganda. They support children concerning education, improve the conditions of children and run health programs including an HIV / AIDS program. In addition, HAU runs a major project through which the population can improve their circumstances by breeding goats and chicken and growing crops for themselves and for the purpose of selling and making a living. In the December issue you will read how many people we have helped by donating pairs of glasses."
The article can be downloaded in Dutch here. |

A Dutch insurance company, Zorg en Zekerheid, is running an action with Eyeclarify: people are requested to hand in their used pair of glasses. These pairs of glasses will be donated to Hope Alive Uganda. What's more, Zorg en Zekerheid supports Hope Alive Uganda in sending the glasses to Uganda. This enables Hope Alive Uganda to organize a third Eyecamp before the end of 2010. Hope Alive Uganda will organize an Eyecamp in Kisozi once again and is likely to organize another Eyecamp in Jinja before the end of 2010. The action ran by Zorg en Zekerheid and Eyeclarify will last until November 1st. After that, Hope Alive Uganda will sort the pairs of glasses in the Netherlands, after which they will be transported to Uganda.
